The Chandigarh Chemists Association (CCA) is a registered body formed in 1975, under the guidance of Late Shri Prem Sagar Jain (Founder President), Late Shri Vishwa Bandhu Singhal and Late Shri L.D.Grover. The CCA is affiliated to the All India Organization of chemists and Druggists (Regd) (AIOCD) with membership of around 8 Lakh Chemists across India.
AIOCD is one of the biggest body in Asia and Chandigarh Chemists Association (CCA) represents more than its 550 Members.
The basic purpose of this body is to streamline the distribution pattern of Pharma Distribution, so that an unbroken chain of life-saving and essential drugs is maintained throughout every corner of the state.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
- To organize all members of the pharmaceutical trades in Chandigarh and promote goodwill, unity and brotherhood amongst them.
- To take necessary steps to safeguard the interest of the public in all possible ways particularly against misbranded spurious drugs and medicines.
- To establish and maintain or to help in the establishment or maintenance of libraries and reading rooms for general use of the members of the association and all those engaged in the drug trade, industry and allied trades.
- To promote the development of pharmaceutical trade.
- To develop and maintain friendly relations amongst its members and all persons engaged in the pharmaceutical trade and allied trades and profession and also government medical, mercantile or other public or private bodies and individuals.
- To maintain and establish uniformity in rules and regulations of the trade and the profession.
- To undertake or help in undertaking propaganda and publicity work in any way on behalf of the trade and merchandise, singly or along with others.
- To do all other acts necessary for the benefit of the members and public as well as decided by the Association from time to time.
- To serve as a unified and common mouth piece of the chemists & Druggists Trade in Chandigarh and serve as a representative body to meet the Government and other public authorities from time to time and focus the attention of all or any such authorities on the problems and programmes of the Trade and its members with a view to help the members of the Association.
